Regarding identity verification when purchasing online

Please make sure to cover (mask) some of the information on your identity verification document with plain paper or other material before uploading it. If the relevant information is not covered, the document will be discarded and you will not be able to apply. Click here for information that needs to be masked for each document.

Your identity verification documents

Please prepare one of the following items (1) through (5), along with the corresponding identification document.

  • If the address registered on your identification document differs from your current address, you will not be able to complete the identity verification process through the app. Please complete the procedure through identity verification by the delivery person.

(1) My Number Card (Individual Number Card)

When verifying your identity through the app, you will need your digital signature certificate PIN (6 to 16 alphanumeric characters, all uppercase) when reading the IC chip.

  • *If you have forgotten your digital signature certificate PIN, you can use the number printed on your card to complete the procedure.
  • 1. Documents that include a photograph and current address.
  • 2. The facial photograph matches the person in question.
  • 3. Items within their expiration date

(2) Driver's license

If you use the app for identity verification, you will need PINs 1 and 2 (the 4-digit numbers you set when you received your driver's license) when reading the IC chip.

  • *If you make three consecutive incorrect attempts, your account will be locked.
  • *To unlock your vehicle, please go to a police station or driver's license center.
  • 1. Documents that include a photograph and current address.
  • 2. The facial photograph matches the person in question.
  • 3. Items within their expiration date
  • 4. Issued by the Public Safety Commission of each prefecture (excluding international driver's licenses)

(3) Residence card (Status: Permanent Resident / Highly Skilled Professional No. 2)

When verifying your identity through the app, you will need the number printed on your card (2 letters + 8 digits + 2 letters) when reading the IC chip.

  • 1. Documents containing a photograph, name, date of birth, and current address.
  • 2. The facial photograph matches the person in question.
    *This is also required if there is no change history on the back.
  • 3. Items within their expiration date
  • *Please note that residence cards/special permanent resident certificates issued on or after June 14, 2026 cannot be used for identity verification via the app. Please use identity verification by the delivery person.

(4) Residence card (status: Permanent Resident / Highly Skilled Professional No. 2) + Foreign passport

When verifying your identity through the app, you will need the number printed on your card (2 letters + 8 digits + 2 letters) when reading the IC chip.

  • 1. Documents containing a photograph, name, date of birth, and current address.
  • 2. The facial photograph matches the person in question.
  • 3. Items within their expiration date
  • 4. Those with 90 days or more remaining until their expiration date of stay
  • *A residence card is required even if there is no change history on the back.
  • *Please note that residence cards/special permanent resident certificates issued on or after June 14, 2026 cannot be used for identity verification via the app. Please use identity verification by the delivery person.
  • *Please upload foreign passports with the "gender" section covered (masked) with a blank piece of paper or similar material. If the relevant section is not covered, the document will be discarded and your application will not be accepted.

(5) Special Permanent Resident Certificate

When verifying your identity through the app, you will need the number printed on your card (2 letters + 8 digits + 2 letters) when reading the IC chip.

  • 1. Items within their expiration date
  • 2. Documents containing a photograph, name, date of birth, and current address.
  • *Please note that residence cards/special permanent resident certificates issued on or after June 14, 2026 cannot be used for identity verification via the app. Please use identity verification by the delivery person.
When used by someone other than the contract holder
  • In addition to the above, the following four documents can also be used as identification for users other than the contract holder.
  • Student ID card/student handbook
  • Disability certificate

Mental disability certificate

  • 1. Items that have the issue date indicated or are within their validity period.
  • 2. Documents containing a photograph, date of birth, and current address.
  • *Please be sure to cover (mask) the "Disability Name (Type of Disability)," "Disability Grade," and "Gender" with a blank piece of paper or similar before uploading. If the relevant sections are not covered, the document will be discarded and your application will not be accepted.
  • If the surname is different from that of the contract holder, the following family verification documents will be required.
  • Certificate of residence
  • Family register
  • Partnership Certificate + (Optional) Partnership Receipt

We will verify your identity when you receive the product.

  • We will verify your identity with your identification documents upon delivery.
    Please have the contract holder receive it.
  • * If you are unable to receive the product, your order will be cancelled.
  • *This service may not be available in some areas (such as remote islands).

For the pre-approval process of your contract, you will be required to upload identification documents.

If there are any problems with the image, you will be asked to upload it again, so please check the following before applying.

Please take a picture of your ID with a digital camera or smartphone and save it to your computer (smartphone). When doing so, please select an image where the photo and written information can be clearly read. Please make sure to include the entire ID in the photo.

STEP 2 Upload a photo of yourself

  • ・Click the "Select Photo" button.
  • ・When the upload screen opens, check the notes and click the "Select photo" button to upload the image you have taken.
  • ・ Check the uploaded image and click the "Confirm" button to complete the upload.

Your identity verification documents

Please prepare one of the following items (1) through (6), along with the corresponding identification document.

  • Please have the page with your current address written on it ready.
  • If your current address is different from the address on the confirmation documents below, or if there is no address space on the confirmation documents, you will need to provide a certificate of residence or a utility bill addressed to you with your current address written on it (issued within the last 3 months).

(1) My Number Card (Individual Number Card)

  • 1. The side of the My Number Card where the name and address are written (front of the card)
  • *The side of the card containing your My Number (back of the card) cannot be used. If uploaded, it will be discarded.
  • *Please upload the card with the "Gender" and "Organ Donation Intention" information on the front covered (masked) with a piece of plain paper or similar material. Cards sent with this information visible will be discarded.
  • *Notification cards cannot be used as proof of identity.

(2) Driver's license

  • 1. Documents that include a photograph and current address.
  • 2. Items within their validity period
  • 3. Issued by the Public Safety Commission of each prefecture (excluding international driver's licenses)
  • *A photograph is required for driver's licenses. If the photograph is unclear or if part or all of the face is obscured and cannot be verified, you will be required to re-upload it.
  • *When uploading the back side, please be sure to cover (mask) the "Organ Donation Intention Statement" section with a blank piece of paper or similar before uploading.
    If the relevant section is not covered, the document will be discarded and the application will not be accepted.

(3) Japanese passport

  • - A valid Japanese government-issued photograph containing your name, date of birth, and current address.
  • If your current address differs from the address on your identification document, or if your identification document does not have an address field (for passports applied for on or after February 4, 2020), you will need to provide a resident registration certificate or a utility bill receipt addressed to you with your current address. (Must be issued within the last three months.)
  • *Please be sure to cover (mask) the "gender" section with a blank piece of paper or similar material before uploading. If the relevant section is not covered, the document will be discarded and your application will not be accepted.

(4) Residence card (Status: Permanent Resident / Highly Skilled Professional No. 2)

  • 1. Documents containing a photograph, name, date of birth, and current address.
  • 2. The facial photograph matches the person in question.
  • *This is also required if there is no change history on the back.
  • *Please be sure to cover (mask) the "gender" section with a blank piece of paper or similar material before uploading. If the relevant section is not covered, the document will be discarded and your application will not be accepted.
