Application procedures for MNP/number porting (transfer)

We will explain the procedure for applying when switching from another company to Y!mobile or from SoftBank /LINEMO.

 
  • *Switching from SoftBank /LINEMO to Y!mobile will result in a "number transfer."

Transfer (MNP/number porting) application procedure

STEP1

Your current mobile phone company will process the issuance of your MNP reservation number.
Please check here for application procedures for each mobile phone company.
If you are transferring your number from SoftBank /LINEMO, you do not need to issue an MNP reservation number.

  • * In the case of online stores, depending on the carrier from which you are transferring, you may be able to complete the procedure in a one-stop manner without needing an MNP reservation number.
  • *Contact information may change. For details, please contact your mobile phone company.
 

STEP2

You will receive an MNP reservation number from your current mobile phone company.

 

STEP3

You will complete the new contract procedure at Y!mobile.
Please check here for the items you need to bring with you for the procedure.

  • *Once the new contract procedure is completed with Y!mobile, your contract with your original mobile phone company will be automatically canceled.
 

Procedures at the old carrier

To transfer your current phone number to Y!mobile, you will need to apply for an MNP reservation number from your current mobile phone company.
Please see below for application procedures for each mobile phone company.

  • *If you are switching from SoftBank /LINEMO, you do not need to issue an MNP reservation number.

The MNP reservation number you received from your current mobile phone company is required to sign a contract with Y!mobile.

Y!mobile

When switching to Y!mobile (MNP/number porting), the documents required will vary depending on the procedure, so please check in advance.

Before the procedure

The procedure for switching to Y!mobile (MNP/number porting) can be done at a Y!mobile shop or online store.

If you switch to Y!mobile, your original service will be canceled once the transfer (activation) procedure with Y!mobile is completed.

 

You cannot transfer the email address issued by your previous mobile phone carrier.

Things to note when switching to Y!mobile

Regarding various fees

  • If you carry out the switching (activation) procedure outside of the contract renewal month of your old carrier, you may be charged a cancellation fee depending on the contents of your contract with your old carrier. Please note that if you carry out the procedure online, it may take some time for the switching (activation) procedure to be completed.
  • If you have signed up for a discounted service such as an annual contract, you may incur additional charges upon cancellation.

Regarding transfer procedures

  • Any services provided by your current mobile phone company (such as Price Plan and discount services) will end upon cancellation.
  • If you wish to unlock the SIM of your current mobile phone contract, please check here in advance.
  • Depending on your contract status, etc., you may not be able to make a reservation by phone or online (MNP reservation conditions depend on the regulations of each company).
  • Data-only phone numbers are not eligible for MNP or number porting.

About other services

  • The email address will be ****@ymobile.ne.jp. **** can be any combination of alphanumeric characters you like.
  • It may not be possible to transfer content or electronic money provided by content providers.
